Polizei VW Transporter

Check out this Polizei VW Transporter from Forever 64 release 16. I really get excited anytime I can squeeze in some police cars but this Transporter may be one of my favorite Forever 64 releases I have done to date. This assortment also includes another VW Transporter that is red with a white side and some could say is movie inspired.
I may have an opportunity to put Tomica castings in the JL line. Let me know your thoughts and what cars you want to see. I appreciate the feedback.

  1. Tom...Tomicas in the JL Line would be sweet. To help us though...can you provide some guidance for what castings are available? I immediately think Caddy Ambulance from the 70s as well as their Citroen Van from the same period.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

  3. Tomica casting in the JL line? That would be a wonderful thing!

There were many US cars on the Tomica line, like:

    '77 Oldsmobile Toronado XSR
    Lincoln Continental Mark IV
    AMC Pacer
    Ford T
    Ford Mustang II
    Cadillac Fleetwood

Also, I'd like to see the following (all existing Tomica models):

    Toyota 2000GT
    VW Golf I (Rabbit)
    late VW Typ II Transporter
    70's Honda Civic
    70's Honda Accord
BMW 2002 (or early 3 series)
    Austin Mini
    Mercedes Unimog
    Mazda Cosmo (gorgeous car)
    Lamborghini Cheetah
Daihatsu Midget (fun funky 3 wheeler)
    Nissan Cube
    Eunos Roadster and current Miata
    current Toyota Yaris (Vitz)
    current Mazda 2 (Demio)
    Citroën SM
    Citroën 2CV
    Citroën H Truck
    Pokémon Pikachu Car

  4. Tom,

Split the mainline Tomica and F64 so that there is 2 seperate ranges.

    Like per wave have 9 JL's and 4 Tomy's!

  5. I would love to see Tomicas in the JL line! I think that they'd be a better fit than most people think they would be.

Now, if the question came up to cast one of these, from scratch, I would think very few of these would be worth doing. But for castings that already exist, are owned by the corporate parent, and look good? It would be crazy not to take advantage of this opportunity.

Vintage Japanese cars are becoming more popular. You can't go wrong with Z cars, Celicas & Supras, RX-7s, and Civics. I think the Import Heat line failed because we didn't have the right mix of cars (and to be fair, some of them had awful graphics). In addition, Tomica has a nice selection of classic and modern cars from around the world. I assume Tomica intends to market their current range as Tomicas in the USA, so I've intentionally skipped anything that's in the current line-up.

Of course, any of their vintage American or European cars would be welcome additions also. They've got a Coronet Custom that is just begging to be done as a Chickasaw County car! Some pictures are posted over on my blog:

  6. Hello,Mr Tom Zahorsky. I'm Japanese and one of JL collector. Now, I'm very surpised that you said about TOMICA, which is Japanese product!
I'm looking forward to seeing cool JL-TOMICA.

How about thinking about former foreign car series made by TOMICA?

There were many interesting line up. For example, DODGE coronet, Sun Francisco cable car.

    Thank you.
